On the 5th of April 2013, Ritchie purchased a share in the 83 rated 3-year-old gelding, Moviesta. Having only raced three times, he placed on his first two starts as a 2-year-old before breaking his Maiden and the track record at Wolverhampton. Moviesta produced an amazing sequence of 1st’s and 2nd’s in his next four runs in valuable 3-year-old handicaps, filling him with confidence and giving him the experience to take on his elders for the first time in his next start.

The highlight of his season was his comfortable victory in the 5f Group 2 King George at Glorious Goodwood. A change in tactics proving the key, holding him up at the back of the field, using his high cruising speed while the lightning fast pace was set up front. This allowed Moviesta to pick off his rivals and burst clear in the final furlongs beating Swiss Spirit by one and a half lengths in his first start against older horses.

Moviesta finished his 3-year-old season rated 113 improving 30lbs in only six runs.   He has since won the 6f Group 3 Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh, and come 4th in the Group 1 Nunthorpe at York and 3rd in the Group 1 Prix De L’Abbaye at Longchamp.   Moviesta has won over £230,000 in prize money and will head to Dubai to compete in the Carnival and World Cup in 2017.
