About Fisher Green
Fisher Green is a lovely 4-year-old gelding by multiple Group 1 winner, Rip Van Winkle. Bought as a foal for a bargain of €10,000 at the Goff’s February sale, he is out of Indian Ridge mare, Prealpina, who is the Dam of five winners from six runners.
As we liked Fisher, we did not rush him during his 2-year-old career and instead gave him time to fill out and mature. By the time he was ready to run it was the back-end of the season and he had gone in his coat so we decided to wait until his 3-year-old career for him to make his debut
Our patience was rewarded when he won on debut at Doncaster in a 7f Maiden comfortably beating his more experienced rivals.
Given a handicap rating of 81 for his win meant that we had to pitch him against even more experienced rivals in a 0-90 race, and he naturally found life tougher at this level. After a couple more runs we have put Fisher away for the winter in preparation for his 4-year-old career in 2017.
